The treatment for Kawasaki disease is an IV (intravenous) gamma globulin for 24 hours which is standard treatment. A high-dose aspirin is also given along with the IV gamma globulin. Although it is not asked, the code for Kawaski disease is 446.1.

Excellent, on another note 446.1 does not have an HCC. I see it often in reports. Now, looking at the tx., what do you think about giving a child high doses of aspirin? That is a no no. Wonder if the tx. is different for children vs. adults?

Why would Kawasaki Disease not have a HCC? Isn't it a chronic condition?

Thanks for sharing this video. Now that I am coding the for emergency this type of video is very helpful to picture what is actually happening.

What a sweet little child, she was so good throughout that video even though it was obvious that she felt miserable.
